How The Contract Is Made

  • We accept trade in’s from residents within the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland only.
  • The contract will begin once you have submitted your trade in request on our website and received your confirmation email.
  • It is important to understand that you must have full ownership of the device that you are wishing to trade, and by trading with us you confirm this.
  • Once we receive your device and issue your payment then its ownership will pass solely to us. If the device is later found to be reported as lost or stolen, or becomes network barred or blacklisted, then we reserve the right pursue you for full reimbursement for our losses and may involve the authorities to investigate further to commence possible criminal proceedings.
  • You may cancel this contract with us at any time, up to the time when you send us your device; this is your cooling off period.
  • When cancelling this contract during the cooling-off period, you do not need to give us any reasons and you will not have to pay any fees.
  • To cancel the contract you must notify us in writing by either letter or email.
  • The device we receive must meet our terms and conditions; if it doesn’t then we reserve the right to cancel this contract with you.

Consumers

By placing an order through our site, you warrant that:

  • You are resident in Great Britain or Northern Ireland; and
  • You are accessing our site from that country; and
  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract; and
  • You are at least 18 years old; or
  • If you are under 18 years of age, that you have obtained your parent’s or guardian’s consent to sell your phone to us for the sum indicated via our website.

You and your parents or guardians release us of any liabilities or claims that may arise if you send the phone to us in breach of this warranty.

If you deal as a consumer any provision of this contract which is of no effect to a consumer shall not apply. Your statutory rights are not affected by this contract.

For the purposes of these terms and conditions, “consumer” means an individual who neither makes this contract in the course of a business, nor holds himself out as doing so, as defined by the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977

Business

By Placing An Order Through Our Site, You Warrant That:

  • You Are Authorised To Act On Behalf Of The Registered Business; And
  • You Are Based In Great Britain Or Northern Ireland; And
  • You Are Accessing Our Site From That Country; And
  • You Are Legally Capable Of Entering Into A Binding Contract.

Click here to review our Grading Specification. All devices which pass the functionality test will be Graded as Grade A, B or C and valued based on the cosmetic condition

Each mobile phone or device sold should match the make and model in the sale order and meet the following conditions:

Good Working

Each device should:

  • Be fully functional*
  • Be in good condition(may have moderate wear and tear – no cracks, chips, dents, deep scratches or engraving)
  • Have no defects in screen(no pixel damage, defects or discolouration in LCD)
  • Include its battery and back cover(charger not required)
  • Have healthy battery(battery health must be 80% or greater)
  • Not have bent housing
  • Not be water-damaged(water indicators must not be red)
  • Be removed from any iCloud, Samsung, and Google Accounts
  • We cannot buy your phone if it is missing parts is bent, crushed or snapped in half

*Must turn on and off, with all buttons and ports undamaged and working. All features such as making calls, Wi-Fi, Camera, Video, etc. must work. Operating system (software) must be fully working. Screen and touchscreen must fully work. Battery capacity must be very good.

Poor

Each device should:

  • Be fully functional*
  • Have no major damage(may have heavy wear and tear such as deep scratches, marks and small cracks, chips or dents – glass must not be shattered or bits missing)
  • Have no major defects in screen(may have very small pixel damage, minor defects or light discolouration in LCD)
  • Include its battery and back cover(charger not required)
  • Have decent health battery(battery health must be 70% or greater)
  • Not have bent housing
  • Not be water-damaged(water indicators must not be red)
  • Be removed from any iCloud, Samsung, and Google Accounts
  • We cannot buy your phone if it is missing parts is bent, crushed or snapped in half

*Must turn on and off, with all buttons and ports undamaged and working. All features such as making calls, Wi-Fi, Camera, Video, etc. must work. Operating system (software) must be fully working. Screen and touchscreen must fully work (even if damaged). Battery capacity must be good.

Faulty

Each device should:

  • Power on(screen must switch on and not be blank)
  • Include its battery(charger not required)
  • Be intact(not crushed or snapped in half)
  • Not have bent housing
  • Not have any missing parts or components
  • Be removed from any iCloud, Samsung, and Google Accounts
  • We cannot buy your phone if it is missing parts is bent, crushed or snapped in half

Faulty examples: Water damaged, Shattered touchscreen, Major defect in screen, Faulty operating system, Faulty camera, Faulty touchscreen, Faulty Wi-Fi, Poor battery capacity, Faulty charging port, etc.

Dead

Each device should:

  • Include its battery(charger not required)
  • Be intact(not crushed or snapped in half)
  • Not have bent housing
  • Not have any missing parts or components

Dead examples: No power on, Blank Screen.

All devices must not be activation locked and must be deregistered from any associated accounts. All phones and devices must be on a UK network or not locked. Phones or devices locked to a foreign network will not be accepted.

By submitting an order through our site you warrant that the phone(s) comply with these terms.

If a phone fails to meet our terms and conditions we’ll propose an adjusted price by email. If you choose to decline our new offer, we are happy to return the phone. We have the final decision on all phone values. Adjusted orders will be automatically processed for payment if you do not reply to our proposed offer email within 14 days.

Please note:

We accept phone battery chargers and accessories. But, these do not increase the value of your order. We may not be able to return accessories or original packaging (box) if you request your phone to be returned

Pricing

Prices offered on our website are subject to change at any time without notice.

When your order has been placed, the prices quoted are guaranteed for 14 days from the ‘Order Created’ date. If your phones are received after 14 days from the ‘Order Created’ date, the up-dated, current prices will apply.

A reduced price will be offered on mobile phones which do not meet the above criteria. We will inform you via email to let you know. You have the right to reject this offer at any time within a 7 day period and we will send the mobile phone back to you free of charge.

If we have not heard from you in 7 days, we will take this as your acceptance and will credit the amount quoted to your account.

Damaged mobile phones

We can still pay you for your damaged mobile phones but the values offered will be less than those listed on the site. Damaged mobile phones should be sold as Non-Working, and meet the Non-Working Phone criteria. The stated Non-Working price will be paid.

BER (Beyond Economical Repair)

Zero to 10% of working price value for all handsets that are BER will be paid

Lost/Stolen/Barred mobile phones (Blacklisted Mobiles)

We support CheckMEND, a crime protection database created to track lost, stolen and barred mobile phones. If we receive any mobile phones that are registered on their database as lost, stolen or barred they will be disposed of unless proof of ownership can be supplied.

Suitable proof of ownership would be documentation such as supplier contract or written confirmation from the Police showing that the IMEI is incorrectly registered as lost, stolen or barred. The documentation would need to show that the matching unique IMEI number of the mobile phone sold is your property. The block will also have to be removed by Checkmend. Upon receipt of this information and the block removed by checkmend. We can return the mobile phone to you after an administration fee of £7.99 is paid.

If we do not receive such documentation from you within 28 days your mobile phone will be disposed of.

If you feel the information held by CheckMEND is incorrect please email CheckMEND at support@checkmend.com or call them on 08700 112 850 with all the details including the IMEI number and they will assist you.

SIM cards

Please ensure you remove your SIM card before sending us your mobile phone as SIM cards contain personal details. We will not accept liability if SIM cards are sent with the handset and any charges are incurred before or after receipt of your handset. Unfortunately once we have received SIM cards we are unable to return them.

Memory cards

Please ensure you remove your memory card before sending us your mobile phone. Unfortunately once we have received memory cards we are unable to return them.

Data

Please note that it is your responsibility to remove data from your mobile phone(s) before you send them to us. Such data includes, for example, personal details, SMS, photos, games, songs or any other data.

Note that we accept no responsibility in relation to the security, protection, confidentiality or use of such data and it is your responsibility to ensure that such data is removed from your phone prior to sending it to us. Any data found on any phone will be deleted upon testing.

Payments

Where possible we endeavour to make all payments within 2 working days from the day your mobile phone has completed tested and confirmed to meet our terms and conditions. At busy times of the year we cannot guarantee payment within this period. All payments are non-transferable and we reserve the right to withdraw offers with no notice.

Payments will be sent to the name and address you provided when you submitted your order.

If you have chosen to be paid via bank transfer then it is the responsibility of the customer to enter the correct account number and sort code.

If you have chosen to be paid via PayPal you must have an active PayPal account.  We do not take responsibility for customers that enter incorrect PayPal account details.

From time to time we will change the offer values of mobile phones on the website with no notice. If you sell a mobile phone we will pay the value on the date of sale.

Postage & Packaging

we have various posting options which include a freepost service. Our freepost service is only applicable when posting up to 2 phones or devices at a time. 

Phones and devices must be packaged in accordance with our packaging instructions to ensure safe and successful delivery to us. 

Unfortunately, other than when we arrange courier collection, we do not accept responsibility for non-delivery of phones or damage in transit. We therefore recommend that you send any high value units via registered post to ensure successful delivery. 

Postal damage and loss

We do not take any responsibility for the loss or damage to mobile phones before receipt at our warehouse.

We strongly recommend that all our customers pack their mobile phones to minimise the risk of damage. The prepaid envelope does not guarantee that the mobile phone will be received in the same condition as when it was sent. In addition we suggest that all mobile phones sent to us come by Special Delivery. In the event that a package is received in a damaged state at our warehouse, the damaged package will be returned to the customer in order that they can make a claim for the loss directly from Royal Mail. By sending the package back to the customer we do not guarantee that the claim will be successful and we cannot take any liability for any claims which are refused by external parties. Returns

We are unable to return mobile phones that are sent to us and are accepted at full price or after a customer accepts a mobile phone value at a lower price.

Mobile phones will be returned to customers only if a lower price is offered and rejected within the 5 day period. Please note: all personal data from your mobile phone(s) may be deleted if you request your mobile phone(s) to be returned. We send all returned mobile phones via Royal Mail recorded post.

Events Outside Of Our Control

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a contract that is caused by events outside our reasonable control or due to our compliance with any applicable laws or regulations.
